Dr. Roitzsch studied chemistry in Dortmund, Germany. In 2005 he received his doctorate degree for his work on heavy metal ion interactions with DNA. From 2005 until 2009 he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, where he conducted biochemical research in the Department of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University. From 2010 to 2012 he worked in industrial research, until he started his present position in the “Exposure Scenarios” unit of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health in Dortmund. His main responsibility is performing exposure assessments for the approval of biocidal active substances and for the authorisation of biocidal products.
